Arrival by Plane:
There are two airports close (approx. 120 km distance) to Regensburg.
The more international one is Munich Airport (München - Muc)

Regensburg can be reached easily no matter from where you are traveling.

Arrival at Munich Airport:                                                                    
If you arrive at Munich Airport, there are several ways to get to Regensburg:

• Train:
  There is a direct train connecting Munich Airport and Regensburg Hauptbahnhof. It departs at the S-Bahn station below terminal 1 and runs almost every hour.

• Bus and train to Regensburg: Alternatively, you can travel via bus to Freising and take a train to Regensburg in Freising. Take the bus 635 departing in front of the airport's central area (Z) to the train station in Freising (the trip takes approximately 20 minutes) and change here to a train to Regensburg. All trains running between Munich and Regensburg stop at Freising

• Shuttle service:
  There is also a commercial shuttle service running from Munich Airport to Regensburg.

Arrival at Airport Nürnberg: 

If you fly into Nürnberg airport, take the Underground U2 (direction Nürnberg Röthenbach) until Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof (13 minutes) and take a train at Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof to Regensburg Hauptbahnhof
